DERMAN Counselling Service achieved BACP accreditation status

DERMAN Counselling Service has been successfully achieved BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accreditation status. Derman became one of the first Turkish/Kurdish charity organisations in the whole of UK to have a BACP accredited counselling service.

Through its successful application Derman has demonstrated its commitment to excellence for the counselling service which offers to its clients. Service accreditation with the BACP provides robust evidence of service performance, safety and professionalism. This prestigious award is also further evidence of the high quality service that the organisation delivers.

Derman provides a range of health-related services freely, at no cost, to Kurdish, Turkish, Turkish Cypriot and Eastern European Turkish people mainly refugees and asylum seekers mainly in Hackney. Derman’s services are all completely non-denominational and politically unaligned.

The services include Bi-Lingual Health Advocacy, Counselling, Mental Health Recovery Support, Welfare Rights Advice and Community Support Navigation for individuals and families.
